What Are The Effects Of Taking Provera?
Question: Hi
You answered a for me some days ago and after going to the doctor, he prescribed Provera to take 1 pill three times per day for 7 days.
Then 2 pills 3 times daily for 10 days.
Is this too much? I am afraid because a few years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer some years ago (although the results eventually stated that I was precancerous) and my doctor told me that I should avoid taking hormones. Can you please advise?

Brief Answer:
Provera therapy is not too much for you.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The thickened endometrium that you have been diagnosed with can be controlled only with the help of hormonal therapy. Taking Provera for 17 days is not too much. It will help in controlling the excessive endometrial growth.
Such a short therapy is not likely to affect your precancerous status. However it is recommended to go for an annual mammogram for screening.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
