Medications,diet and execise are curative
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
The LFT reports described by you are not grossly abnormal but are not fully normal as well. You have been diagnosed as suffering from
fatty liver. this condition has a number of causes. These range from a strict vegetarian diet to medications to alcohol. If untreated it can progress to
cirrhosis. The diagnosis of cirrhosis requires
ultrasound , biopsy and biochemical evidence confirmed in advanced cases by endoscopy.Your ultrasound does not describe of coarse echo texture which is suggestive of cirrhosis.
In your case I would suggest the following measures
1. Dietary modifications. High protein,low fat,low
carbohydrate diet.
2. Regular exercise .(best would be awalk for 40 minutes)
3. Plenty of water.
4. Stop alcohol consumption immediately not even beer.
5. Medications;
a. sorbitol+tricholine citrate combination (2tablespoons with a glass of warm water in the morning on empty stomach once a day for 6 full months)
b.
ornithine compounds (1-1-1) after meals for 6 weeks.
I am sure these measures will help you.
Repeat ultrasound and liver function tests after 6 months.
I hope this answers your doubts.
