The foods restricted during acitrom therapy are mainly vitamin K containing diet as they alters the effectiveness of the drug. These foods include XXXXXXX leafy vegetables like spinach, asparagus, XXXXXXX cranberry along with its juice, oranges juices, liver and citric fruit juices. These diets are not fully restricted but reduced to some extent. That is if you eat one type of vit K XXXXXXX food then you have to avoid the others for the whole day.
The acitrom drug is anticoagulant and increases the bleeding tendency therefore continuous monitoring INR is recommended. Please keep a tab on the INR and if it goes beyonfd 1.4, please see your physician for modification of dose. Other drugs like aspirin, ibuprofen and all pain killers need to be avoided as the risk of bleeding is greatly increased with these drugs. Also, if you have any other condition for which you are taking any drug, please let your doctor know. This drug has a lot of interactions with other drugs which can be very XXXXXXX Do not take any drugs on your own.

The INR at this stage is ok. Reducing at this stage will cause formation of the clot in the grafted artery. We do want to maintain the INR on the higher side initially but would want to get it back during the long term. The diet you have mentioned are good as appetizers but lemon also contain vitamin K. so use it in reduced quantities. For proper diet routine, please consult a nutritionist who has his entire case history and has been briefed by the operating surgeon
