What Are The Harmful Side Effects Of Taking Growth Hormones?

Question: If i am a 20 year old female how realistic is it that taking growth hormones would help me increase in height without harmful side effects? I am 5 feet tall. I am developing a healthier lifestyle. but i have not seen any increase in my height since i was 12..
Brief Answer:
Need bone X rays
Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear
Good day.
Let me be open and XXXXXXX with you.
At 20 years most bones in our body would have fused to their growth plate. Once that is done, further increase in height is not possible even with growth hormone supplementation.
The best option would be to do an Xray of your knees and wrist to see of the fusion of bones have already taken place. Please meet an endocrinologist to assess further.
Now if you have stopped growing since 12 years, we may have to find the cause. Your endocrinologist would be able to do certain tests to find the cause. First of all we need the height of your parents and that would help to predict your expected adult height.

Unfortunatley i was adopted at a very young age and have no background on my biological family. Do you know if health insurance will cover the testing?
Brief Answer:
Based on policy
Detailed Answer:
Hi
It would depend on the type of health insurance . It varies from country to country. You may have to contact your provider directly to enquire. X rays of the bones is not an expensive test.
