Go to ER immediately.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query
I am sorry to know of the situation that your friend has taken overdose of xirtam 20 mg (olmisartan) of 10 tablets.
Means she has taken around 200 mg which is definitely an overdose which might be dangerous to her life and must be managed immediately to ER.
The medicine is generally given to reduce blood pressure and an overdose of the drug may cause sudden fall in blood pressure (hypotension),drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain etc.
If she is not treated immediately then there is chances of becoming unconscious and may go into heart arrest due to extreme low blood pressure which could be life threatening.
However,it can be treated if you will immediate visit to ER and there the doctor will start immediate treatment especially to maintain her blood pressure.
It might take 3 to 5 days to bring the patient out of crisis in such cases.
So,better to take her to the ER as soon as possible without wasting much time for further management.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
