Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
I can understand your concern.
Levosalbutamol helps in relieving bronchospasm (spasm of airways)and thus relieves cough.
The therapeutic dose of levosalbutamol is 0.05-0.2 mg/kg/dose.
The toxic dose at which side effects occur is higher than this therapeutic range.
The average weight of 2 years old child is about 12 kgs.So the dose of 6.5 ml which contains about 1.3 mg would not cause any problem.
But as metabolism of every individual is different one should be careful for the side effects.
I would suggest you to observe for any restlessness, tremor, breathing difficulty, perspiration or other significant symptoms.
Chances of toxicity with such dosage are very remote but if you notice any consult your physician.
In most of the cases it gets metabolised in 6-8 hours and if the baby remains normal you need not to worry.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any queries.
