What Are The Repercussions Of The Accidental Ingestion Of A Piece Of Bacon?
Question: YESTERDAY I CHOKED ON A PIECE OF BACON AND I BELIEVE THAT A SMALL PARTICLE WAS INHALED INTO MY LUNGS BUT WHEN I TRIED TO COUGH IT OUT I DONT THINK IT CAME OUT. SINCE THEN I HAVE COUGHED A LOT AND MY LUNGS HAVE A BURNING SENSATION.. I CANT TELL IF I AM GETTING SICK OR THE PARTICLE IS CAUSING A LUNG PROBLEM. IF THERE IS SOMETHING IN THERE WILL IT EVENTUALLY DISSOLVE ON ITS OWN ?

You are having foreign body aspiration (suspected).
And no treatment is available today dissolve it.
You need to get it removed bronchoscopically if it is there.
Aspiration of foreign body is rare but since you are coughing a lot and continuously, you should definitely get done 'check Bronchoscopy' to rule out foreign body stuck in trachea or lung.
Bronchoscopy is not only diagnostic but it is also therapeutic.

The coughing is not constant but several times an hour and I am not coughing up flem however I feel a need to clear my throat several times an hour as well and my windpipe and throat feel as though they have been scratched .... My lungs feel water logged or if I take a very deep breath u need to cough
