What Are The Side Effects Of Clindamycin?

Question: I was prescribed CLINDAMYCIN and METRONIDAZOL on 8/24/17 for diverticulitis and last night noticed slight pain, swelling and tenderness in my right ankle. Also have no appetite, energy and am having trouble concentrating. I am concerned and wonder what could be prescribed in place of these meds as I will NOT be continuing these but do not believe my condition has completely abated. Your recommendations? I refused to take CIPRO but it appears these drugs are in the same category.

Original symptoms included : loose stool, lethergy, lower left abdominal pain. No fever.
Had a pelvic sonogram to rule out ovarian cyst. Ovary ok.
Currently prescribed: losartan HCZT, atorvastatin, bupropion, alprazalam and temazepam. Good health, normal weight. Never smoked, moderate alcohol.
66 yo female.
Your thoughts on other medication I could use not in above catagory?
Taking Ibuprofen for headaches and heat on abdomen when possible. Less pain now but do not believe problem resolved.

Dietary modifications

- Plenty of liquids .
- Soft , light diet with fresh curd preferable .
- Avoid oily , spicy , junk foods , dairy fat till possible .
- Do not over eat or prolong fasting .

Life style modifications

- Regular walking in fresh air , exercises , YOGA .
- Avoid alcohol for some time .
- Avoid stress , anxiety .
- Have regular sound sleep of 8 hrs .

Medicine part suggestions

- Lethargy relates to concurrent use of alprazalam and temazepam , suggested
to choose only one of them .
- Rest of the list of current prescription are okay to continue .
- Ibuprofen should be better avoided for headache , instead can use paracetamol
more safely with same efficacy .
- For diarrhea can add pro biotics and continue metronidazole .
- Drotaverine is a better antispasmodic for intestine spasms .

Local care for knee

- Ice pack application 3 - 4 times a day will revert it within 2 days .
