General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Although antibiotics and painkillers are the treatment of choice, further examination is essential to rule out any complications of diverticulitis. Abdominal CT can be done to identify any other causes of pain abdomen.

Kindly consult your physician to rule out any complications such as intestinal perforation or obstruction since it is an emergency.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
