What Are The Side Effects Of Methotrexate Injection?
Question: I just today restarted my self administered subcutaneous Methotrexate injections. I have previously been on injections for years and for whatever reason discontinued the injections about 10 months ago. My arthritis + numerous other health issues have been quite active and took it upon myslef to continue with my injections. I was normally taking weekly dose of 1ml & had previously discussed with pharmacist at what dose should I restart with. I forgot what they told me so took 0.75mls 1/2 hr ago. Should have asked this question 'before' i did injection.
Do you think I will experience any bad side effects? What should I look out for?
thank you XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but there is no need to worry as methotrexate is well tolerated up to 7.5 ml weekly . However you can expect some minor side effects as naseau , vomiting or abdominal pain. if more severe side effects as urticaria or body swelling occurs then discontinue and seek medical care . I hope I answered your question. if you don't have any other clarifications then please close the discussion.
