What Are The Symptoms Of Kidney Stones?
Question: My wife has been diagnosed with gallstones. She has suffered pain but not other symptoms (eg janudice) for some time (nearly two years). The problem was initially put to one side as she had a potentially more serious illness which has since been dealt with. Her doctor has asked her she wants the gallbladder removed - however she has not received any advice in connection with diet, other treatment options etc. and views surgery as a last resort. Should she accept this or ask for a second opinion ?

I do not have this report. Is this something that the doctor should have discussed with me in detail or show/given to me ?
Brief Answer:
Answer given below
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I just wanted to know whether they are silent stones or problematic stones.
Silent stones do not need surgery.
So it should be discussed and all options told.
Stones causing symptoms need surgical treatment. Laparascopic cholecystectomy may be done.
