What Are The Symptoms Of Meningitis?
Question: I woke up with slight stiff neck and slight upper ba
ck pain. got bad headache, sides of head. no fever no diarrhea, but slightly nauseous. No fever but I am taking antibiotics for precautionary measure for tooth. mouth feels good.
my concern is about a month and half ago had cat scan because they thought I might have CSF leak but came back with sinus infection. it wouldn't be menegitis right?

Probably not but meningitis can't be definitely ruled out. I don't see why was csf leak suspected in such young patient but if you have some brain diseases, imunnodeficiency,fever, aggravating headaches and consciousness disorders then you need to visit er. If not,then I suggest to take nonsteroid painkillers,rest, put some warm compresses on neck and if there is no improvement within 6 hours then visit doctor,check inflammatory markers and consider further diagnostic tests. wish you good health.regards

Dr. I know you can't be certain without doing proper testing. But what are chances these symptoms are menegitis related. Now 6pm no fever, just upset stomach and headache and general weakness a mild stiff neck.
