Brief Answer:
Please describe the situations in which it occur

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

I rad your query and understand your concerns.

The diagnosis of RLS depends on its characteristic pattern in which generally restless occurs while sitting or on lying down. Once the individual starts moving the restless comes don or disappears. Other than that it most commonly occurs just at the time of bed making sleep difficulty. If you have this pattern than this could be RLS.

If not please describe situations in which occur and other medical conditions if any. It is also important to give the details of medication if any as drug induced restless is also a possibility.

I hope this helps you.
Since it was lacking in details I look forward to get more details from you.
Thanks and regards

Hi Dr Kumar-
The leg symptoms occur more at night or at rest. When I get out of bed, I feel
pins and needles on the bottom of my feet. I also have numbess and tingling in the legs. I take Atenolol 25mg for occasional palpitations and sometimes lorazepam for anxiety. Even though I had a negative MRI of the brain and spine for lesions, sometimes this feels like MS.
What other tests can be done to be more conclusive?

Thank you! XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Symptoms are suggestive of RLS

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.

The symptoms are slightly suggestive for RLS but presence of pins and needle sensation generally do not occur in RLS. Considering this fact we need to think for other option for etiology.
First of all a complete neurological examination required.

Secondly please get these reports from your laboratory.
1. Complete Iron profile (Serum ferritin, TIBC, Serum iron, and transferrin saturation )
2. Thyroid profile (T4, T3, TSH)
3. Diabetic profile
4. Renal profile (Urea, creatinine)

Generally RLS is associated with renal impairment, thyroid abnormality, Iron deficiency so with these tests we will be moving forward in direction of confirmation but neurological examination will help us in complete confirmation.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
