I see you have had an aortic stent placed in the past. are you on anticoagulant medication or aspirin as this could worsen the problem and if you are in warfarin for instance it may be prudent to have your inr checked urgently.

you should mark the size of the bruised area and if it continues to increase significantly in size you should seek medical attention.

the best thing you can do is place a pressure dressing over the puncture area. this usually comprises of some folded gauze into a 2 by 2 cm square placed directly over the puncture area with an ace wrap or elastic bandage over this to hold it in place and put some pressure on the area. do not overtighten the ace wrap.
