Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Gastritis with IBS history can be challenging sometimes. So it will need more than just medications like zantac and PPis. You will need a complete diet and lifestyle modifications.
For gastritis we recommend our patients to eat small frequent meals. Avoid foods that irritate your stomach, especially those that are spicy, acidic, fried or fatty. Avoid alcohol and all other beers and stimulants of all the kind. Reduce caffeine and tea intake. Avoid pain killers of NSAID nature like aspirin or ibuprofen etc. Prefer acetaminophen when you have some pain. Manage stress as it flares gastritis. If you have trouble relaxing, consider calming activities, such as meditation, yoga or tai chi.
You can take steps to protect yourself from infections, such as H. pylori, by frequently washing your hands with soap and water and by eating foods that have been cooked completely.
For Ibs increasing fiber intake helps. 14 gm of fiber for every thousand calories is minimum intake and necessary. alcohol, chocolate, caffeinated beverages such as coffee and sodas, medications that contain caffeine, dairy products, and sugar-free sweeteners such as sorbitol or mannitol. If gas is a problem for you, foods that might make symptoms worse include beans, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. Fatty foods also may be a problem for some people. Chewing gum or drinking through a straw can lead to swallowing air, causing more gas.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
