What Causes A Cold Watery Feeling In The Chest?

Question: dear dr i am writibg because i have had a very cold watery feeling inside my chest for 8 months now and it will not go away. i have tried asthma puffers but it doesnt do anythink. it feels like icecubes inside my chest with running cold water. on the left side and sometimes in my widpipe. it feels so cold it makes my chest hurt and ache. i had a xray 8 months ago and it said cardiomediastinal outlines are well delineated as are both hemidiaphragms. the lung fields are clear. perihilar bronchial wall thickening is appreciated.please can you tell me what that means? this thimg will not go away and i also sweat a lot especially when i wake up in the morning all my bedclothes are damp. please can you tell me what it is and what do i have to do to get it better. i am sick of it and want to be better again. thanking you . :)furrykitten

What I can make out is that you are very anxious about your health. You see, anxiety itself can manifest physically like jaw pain , increased heart rate , chest tightness , cold feeling , sweating. I would suggest you not to panic.

Practice consciously breathing in and out for 5 minutes a day. This will help you calm down and reduce your anxiety.

About the Xray ,the Perihilar bronchial wall thickening can be found due to pneumonia , smoking , asthma to name a few. The rest is fine.

Do not worry. I would suggest you to visit a doctor. He/she can examine you and correlate clinically.
