Brief Answer:
If for 2-3 days, possible healing mucosa.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. If you have eaten anything hard or rough food recently, it could have damaged the mucosa and healing at the place could be giving the rough feeling.
2. If you think, no hard food and crust area is large, need to have a look at it and a possible biopsy may be necessary. History of smoking or tobacco products chewing, if present, cancer requires evaluation.
In case of suspected cancer, it could be present for more than a month. Details about the length of time necessary.

If you are not sure about cause, meet a doctor for visual inspection and biopsy.

Hope it helps.
