What Causes A Difference In The Placement Of Leg While Walking?

I need some info on below case.
One of my friend has some problem on walking style, by which I mean the placement of right leg will be bit odd, at very minute level, and hence it results in slightly different walking.
The reason for above, which I know was, at the age of 5 or 6 months, there was bit problem in growth and that resulted in above. But surprisingly, there is no difference between both the legs, in terms of movement, strengh, apperarence..etc. The current age of my friend is 25 and there is no other problems like pain..etc
Is this termed as an amount of handicap ? or is it a known syndrome in medical terms ? If so, what are the properties, will it have any problem in future, or it will create genetic problems..etc.
I know I have provided very little information but please let me know if these charactrics identify somethings ?
Thanks a lot
Not genetically related.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The slight lip in the gait can be due to a bone related abnormality or a muscular deformity- lesser power or tone. Such a small change cannot be detected by a common person. This needs a careful examination by an orthopedician or a neurologist to find the defect. Since there is a small limp in his gait it is a deformity- at a very slight level. This is not genetically related. It is usually a developmental disorder or due to injury sustained at the growing end of the bone in childhood.
It can be corrected with physiotherapy and a surgery if the deformity is a minor one.
I hope this answers your query.
