What Causes A Itchy Rash On Lower Right Abdomen Area And Headache?

Question: My fiancé is currently working in Haiti. He indicates he has a rash on his lower right abdomen area. It itches and burns and is fairly good size - bigger than a mosquito bite. He also has a bit of a headache
Brief Answer:
Looks like insect bite hypersensitivity reaction
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the same attached photograph.
It is looking like some insect bite hypersensitivity reaction.
I would recommend him to keep it under observation.
Meanwhile he can apply cortisone cream on it twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet Chlorpheniramine 4 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching and burning.
This should resolve in 7-10 days.
Headache seems to be unrelated with this rash.
He can take paracetamol for headache.
