Brief Answer:
Possible Diagnosis: Hematoma

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic,

The skin discoloration is due to Hematoma formation post surgery. A hematoma is a collection of blood, and it will eventually be reabsorbed back.

You can apply ice, take rest to help relieve the pain and faster healing. Since you are in post-surgical phase, I believe that you must be on pain medication like Oxycodone/Hydrocodone (prescription drugs). If so, please continue them.

Do not take NSAIDs like Ibuprofen for pain as it can increase the chances of bleeding (mild analgesic like Tylenol can be taken instead).

If you notice worsening hematoma, swelling, worsening knee pain it indicates further bleeding into knee joint which requires needle aspiration to remove excess blood. If you notice any such symptoms, please inform the operating surgeon and do follow up with him/her.
