default
Posted on Sat, 2 May 2015
Question: I broke my femur in 2009 , a plate and screws were used to repair, I recovered from the injury apart from a slight limp. Recently I have experienced pain when walking around the area of the injury. I am unsure if the application of heat or exercise is the best course of action.

Brief Answer:
check xray required for assessment of screws and plate

Detailed Answer:
hi
I think you must have a check x ray for the status of scews and plate which may be viewed by an orthoedic doctor. This is to see if no element has loosened to cause pain and also to check and rule out any bone infection, and local metallic reaction to plate and screws.
If none is there,it would be safe to do your usual activity
As of now, paracetamol tablets for a short course for pain relief. Do not massage or apply heat.
Best wishes,
Regards,
