Brief Answer:
As explained below. - go back to the Doctor ASAP

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.

To recapitulate: Female/28 - fractured ribs 2 weeks ago - heard popping sound with pain today morning - wants to know what is this and whether there is a need to go back to the Doctor.
Since it is only 2 weeks, the fracture is still not completely healed. The popping sound with accompanying pain indicates a few things -

Re-fracture or displacement of the fractured segment
may be with or without local trauma.
or injury to the internal structures like lung and/or pleura.

I would advise you to go back to the Doctor ASAP for clinical evaluation, examination and X-ray of the chest in 2 views and further investigations as advised.

And further care as per the findings.

I hope this answers your queries, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
