What Causes A Red Spot On The Intergluteal Cleft?
Pilonidal sinus most likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely inflammation of pilonidal sinus. If you send a picture then it will be more helpful.
You can do sits bath or hot fomentation (warm compress). You can also apply betadine (povidone iodine) ointment for local application. If swelling is more then oral antibiotic will be needed.
Avoid sitting for long periods. Use mild soaps for washing/cleaning. Use doughnut pillows while sitting for support under buttocks.
If there is no improvement and condition is recurring then excision of pilonidal sinus can be performed under local anaesthesia. For this you can approach a General surgeon.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
I have gone through your picture. It looks like Pilonidal sinus. Excess friction by clothing or due to sitting for long time , burrowing of hair back under skin , hormonal action etc are blamed as cause for this.
Make the area hair free. Shaving with non irritating blades or shaver is good. You can do warm compress. Apply Povidone iodine on the spot. Avoid sitting for long time. Use doughnut pillows for buttock support.
You can also apply tea tree oil , sage oil locally , take more garlic , turmeric and citrus fruits in diet, drinking honey in a glass of XXXXXXX warm water , taking vitamin C supplements are helpful home remedies.
If there is no improvement then antibiotics will be needed. If condition recurring or there is no improvement then surgical option (excision of pilonidal sinus under local anaesthesia) can be considered after consulting a General surgeon.

Does it look like a mild pilondial sinus? Or more severe?
It looks mild.

Thank you for your follow up query.
It looks mild. In case of severe one there will be more redness, swelling and pain. There will be more difficulty in sitting also.
