What Causes A Short Line On Skin?
Question: A red mark like a short line appeared on my skin overnight.It doesn't seem to be fading after six days.Its on the thin skin just below my eye.I am 67 and type 1 diabetic.Is this permanent and what is it?

Sudden overnight appearance of a linear line over any exposed site of body occurs mostly in vector dermatitis. This is basically due to the movement of any insects over time body whose body secretions lead to an allergic reaction in the parts it comes in contact with.
You need to apply a mild topical steroid cream like cortisone cream over the affected area twice a day.
In addition, you might need to take some oral antihistamine tablet along like tablet claritin once a day or benadryl in the adult dosage for two to three days.
This will help in controlling the allergic reaction.
