What Causes A White Nodule On The Lower Eyelid?
Question: I have a white nodule on lower eyelid, outside corner, upper surface next to the lashes of the left eye. It is not sore, does not seem to impede vision, I wear contacts. It seems to be getting bigger. Don't know if I should go to eye doctor or GP.
Brief Answer:
Ophtalmologist
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Considering your description this is probably a cyst which may have several different forms: stye, cholesterol bump, chalazion or milia. In every case, this is benign growth usually from clogged glands on eyelids. I am afraid that GP wont be able to help a lot. This required more specific treatment. There are some topical agents which can be used for node "burning" but also, small surgical procedure may be required if there is rapid growth. But generally, treatment is simple and effective. Wish you good health. Regards
