What Causes Abdominal Distention Along With Stomach Discomfort?

default
Posted on Wed, 11 Mar 2015
Question: My belly swells up and becomes hard...when I move from side to side quickly as in exercising it feels like something is moving back and forth around my belly button area and is uncomfortable.

I have motility problems in my esophagus and fatty liver and beginning of chirosis of the liver. I have stopped taking cholesterol meds for a month as they affected my liver before ..I have been off them two weeks. I am wondering if it could be related to a food intolerance... I have had chemo around 10 years ago for breast cancer and I think thats caused the chirosis as I never drank or smoked.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are related to indigestions...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query very carefully and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms are related to indigestions (malabsorption). Indigestions may be caused from food intolerance or liver cirrhosis.

If you were my patient I would recommend to do:
- Blood works, with liver and pancreatic enzymes
- Plasma prothrombine time
- Abdominal ultrasound
- Malabsorption tests

All this data are necessary to determine the exact cause of indigestions.

Hope this was of help!
Wish you health!
