What Causes Abdominal Pain And Gas While On Keflex?

Question: I was on keflex 4weeks ago. I developed gas and abdominal pain. I finished the antibiotics. Since then, I have had frequent loose stools with cramping. VERY uncomfortable. I don't know if the two things are related. I have no fever and feel fine, except for the cramps. I have never had IBS, or any abdominal issues before.
Brief Answer:
How often do you go to stool?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.
To respond to this information, I will like to obtain some more information:
1. How many times in a day do you go to stool?
2. Is there any blood in your stools?
3. Are the stool completely watery?
Diarrhea after taking antibiotics raises questions about a possible clostridium difficilae diarrhea. The above responses would be helpful and I will follow up with you on that.
Thanks and hope to hear hear from you!

I will feel fine, no bm for 2 days. But then I will start cramping and have painful gas
At that point. I will stool 4-5 times a day. It is semi=solid. No blood.

Brief Answer:
Not probably related to C. Difficile.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
With this diarrhea being intermittent, it is unlikely to be related to C. difficile as I earlier mentioned. I will suggest you keep a diet diary and registry of watery stools. I am of the thinking that this is being caused by something in your diet. By examining your food diary and the episodes or diarrhea, we might be able to identify what is going on.
In the interim, I will suggest that you drink much water to compensate for any possible fluid loss. Diarrhea alone should not cause any major worries unless you fail to drink much water.
Keep me updated and kindly share this registry with me
