Brief Answer:
May be an intestinal infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and proper history albeit short but specific.

It says a male / 60 - has pain in abdomen like a gas - persisted throughout the night without passing - now low-grade fever - Medical history is great, no medications - no known allergies.

I would think of the following reasons:
- Intestinal infection- If bacterial, needs antibiotic treatment.
- Stomach flu as it is called, is due to viral origin and it then becomes debatable whether to give medicines or not.

I would take this as a Bacterial intestinal infection, would like to know about the status of diabetes again to be on a safer side.
Would like to start an antibiotic effective against intestinal infection, Metronidazole, probiotics, activated Charcoal tablets and symptomatic treatment for fever or any other problem if that develops.
If the Symptoms or signs worsen, I would like to have few more investigations of the blood and stool. Further treatment will depend upon the findings and repose to the treatment.
I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for any further relevant query or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication.
