What Causes Abdominal Pain In A Patient With IBS?

Question: I have been having Abdominal pain for last 10 months (it started after an episode of food poisoning). I was diagnosed with IBS. Have been taking MacRobonic (Rabeprazole sustained release) since I also have GERD (with mild symptoms) for last 3 months (1 capsule daily).
Recently, one of my doctors suggested he suspects there might be IBD also for which he prescribed Fecal Calprotectin test. I had the test done and the results are quite high 135 (mg/kg) when it should be less than 50 mg/kg. I happened to read the using PPI like Rabeprazole increases the values of Calprotentic test. I dont have any symptoms related to IBD like weight loss, bloody stools etc. Can you please suggest for how many days should I stop taking a PPI medicine before I can do a Fecal Calprotectin test?

Stop PPI atleast 48 hours before the test.

Can you suggest some other tests which I can take up or discuss with my doctor to confirm if the problem is IBS or IBD ? Is colonoscopy a good way to determine with certainty if I am having IBD ?

colonoscopy is the best test here.
But as it is invasive procedure calprotectin is done..
You can go for colonoscopy after discussing your doctor..
