Brief Answer:
Need more information.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX,

Welcome to HCM and thank you for the query.
I understand what you are going through. Added to the symptoms is the concern of not getting a satisfactory explanation for your problem.
Could you please let me have some additional information?
What brings on this pain? How often do you get it? Does it occur before you eat or after eating? Is it related to certain foods, your mood or stress?
How would you describe yourself - Cool or anxious?
Have you lost any weight after the onset of this problem?Do you pass mucus in the stools? Did you notice any blood any time? Do you have any tests of your stool examination? If so upload the same.
Is there any thing that you have tried, that gives you relief?
I would give my opinion after getting these details.
Best wishes,
Dr. Noble Zachariah

nothing really brings on the pain it just comes out of no where.about every three to six months i can bank on having an attack. no not usually after eating but sometimes i was told acidic foods by one doctor like tomato sauce and spicy foods. i dont think moods no i have not noticed a change there or havent paid attention and i have not had any weight loss or weight gain i seem to be holding. No stool samples. The only thing that gives me relief is after the diahria is done but until then it is extremely painful. yes there has been some blood with wiping but not always....it is very light in color if that helps.

Brief Answer:
Irritable Bowel Syndrome most likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,

Thanks for the information.
Your problem is Irritable Bowel Syndrome of the mucus colitis type, in my opinion.
It may be related to certain foods or stress or to an unknown factor. It is a distressing problem sometimes but not a serious or dangerous disease.
If blood is noticed consistently, it should be investigated with a colonoscopy as inflammatory bowel disease may be a cause. If it is not consistent, a stool examination during a bloody diarrhea may show infections like amoeba etc. If so it has to be treated with specific medicines like antibiotics.
For the relief of an occasional diarrhea, you may take loperamide (imodium), but any diarrhea with fever or blood should be investigated.
I shall be happy to answer if you have more queries. If not you may close this discussion and record your comments.
Wish you good health.

Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy is advised.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXX,

Welcome back.
Since you are consistently noticing blood in the motion, it has to be investigated with a colonoscopy. It would show where the blood comes from. If it is an inflammatory bowel disease, there are very good medicines and it would respond well to treatment. Surgery is required only in rare cases or after many years of active disease.
I would be interested in knowing the colonoscopy findings if you have it done.
