What Causes Abnormally Severe Pain During Menstruation?

default
Posted on Mon, 25 May 2015
Question: I know that I am due on my period round about now, but my concern is that although I have experienced simillar pain to this, this is out of the ordinary for me. This morning I was in horrendous pain it has calmed down a little now after some pain killers but my muscles still feel very tender and there is a lot of pressure. I am just wondering if it is normal for period pain to be this intense even before it has started, this started yesterday morning but I have not started yet.
My cycle is normal but usually my pain is mild every month this is very different.

Brief Answer:
May be a period pain( premenstrual symptom).

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for trusting us about your health care.

I can understand your concern here.

Your pain can be due to premenstrual pain because it is relieved by pain killer, may be you will resume your period in 1-2 days.

As your pain is not associated with any other symptoms like bleeding, vomiting and vaginal discharge, there is no need to worry but if have any associated symptoms and pain is not relieved by pain killer, you should consult a Gynaecologist for the same.

Hope it is useful, feel free to discuss more questions.

Regards

Hello dear,

Sorry for the delay in my response.
