What Causes Absence Of Periods Along With Indigestion?

Question: I'm 44 and haven't had my period for 77 days. Ive never had sex. I've been having some indigestion. My mom's mom had ovarian cancer.

Not having periods at the age of 44 can be due to menopause. You can confirm this by getting a blood test. Serum FSH levels need to be evaluated. An ultrasound scan will help in ruling out any ovarian pathology. This can be done transabdominally where nothing needs to be inserted in vagina.

Ultrasound can be done using an abdominal probe also. You will have to keep your urine retained for few hours for this. In case the visualization is not good then transvaginal scan is done. The probe is made according to the body contours. The examination is not painful. Please do not worry.
