Posted on Thu, 20 Aug 2015
Question: I'm 16 weeks pregnant, and I have a pimple close to my Aerola for about 5 weeks, it was big and red at first but after 2 weeks it shrinked, but it is still there and hasn't changed for a while, it looks like there is something in it and it is so soft, when I touch it or when it is cold it gets a little bit bigger, but it seems it doesnt want to go, is it something that I should worry about?

Brief Answer:
Most likely a XXXXXXX tubercle.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
The breasts undergo many changes during pregnancy, and these are part and parcel of the normal spectrum of pregnancy changes.
I think what you are having are called - XXXXXXX tubercles.
These are small pimple like glands that enlarge during pregnancy, close to the areola.
Their growth is exaggerated during pregnancy, and they are quite normal.
Nothing to worry about it.
Can you send pictures of the pimple ?
These tubercles often grow bigger when you touch it, and the nipple is stimulated by cold or touch.
Please google XXXXXXX tubercle and look at the images, I am pretty sure that is what you have, and it is a benign, normal pregnancy change.
Do not worry.
Enjoy your pregnancy !
All the best
