What Causes Black Clumpy Vaginal Discharge When Diagnosed With An Ovarian Cyst?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Feb 2017
Question: I am trying to conceive and got a negative blood pregnancy test yesterday, but with the cramping I have been having for three weeks, I had an ultrasound this morning where they confirmed an ovarian cyst. This afternoon I have had an almost black clumpy discharge. Could this be a ruptured cyst or I'm hoping it could be implantation bleeding of course. I had a thick white odorless discharge like I"ve never had before about 2 weeks ago.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be a rupture.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that the mentioned presentation does not indicate a ruptured ovarian cyst and you need not get concerned. However, it is recommended that you remain under routine care and follow up of your gynecologist & obstetrician.
