What Causes Bleeding After Positive Ovulation Test 3 Weeks Ago?
Question: My period is a week later then it should be. Had positive ovulation test 3week's ago. Tested on day of missed period pregnancy test negative. 7 days later spotted then stopped. Next day it was heavier bleeding red colored and a few clots but nothing in pad only when wiping. A moderate blood when wiping but pad wad almost empty after 16hours. Is this spotting or m/c, or very light period. I did have sex 14days before bleeding so may be ovulation wad off and this is implantation bleeding. Not sure if it is too heavy for implantation bleeding or I'd it spotting since very little in pad. Confused since there are some clots in toilet and blood on toilet paper.

Yes I have very regular cycles. I chart the ovulation tests and start and stop of period for past year. I ovulate 14days before start of period. First day of period spotting to light bleeding. Second day moderate to heavy and third day light to spotting. Sometimes spotting on fourth day. I always fill 1-2pads a day for second and third days of period. So far two days and no pad needed just when wiping. I am 5'10"and weight around 220pds. 34Yrs old.

With positive ovulation 3 weeks ago,this cannot be implantation bleeding.
Also you had sex 14 days prior to this bleeding, again, implantation bleeding would have been earlier.
This seems to be an irregular period - delayed and scanty.
The causes could be plenty - stress, anxiety, travelling, weight changes, exercise, smoking, drinking, late nights, erratic eating.
Please get a blood pregnancy test , a Pap smear and a pelvic ultrasound scan to rule out other potential causes like ovarian cysts, fibroids, cervical lesions etc.
Get your hormones checked too - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin.
Alternatively you can have this workup done next month is similar menstrual irregularity persists.
