What Causes Bleeding In Right Ear And Excessive Cough?
I NEED AN ANSWER NOW, NOT A AN HOUR FROM NOW!!!!
This could be due to vigorous cough.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
We are sorry for the delay.
The ear bleeding could be due to vigorous cough.
Our inside ear is connected to back of the nose by a tiny tube called Eustachian tube. So a vigorous cough could have caused sudden change in pressure in the ear. The sudden change in the pressure could cause ear drum damage and bleeding.
I have seen many cases in my practice. Most of the ear bleeds stop on their own.
I recommend the following.
1) Avoid vigorous coughing. While coughing open your mouth and cough.
2) If its just dry cough, cough suppressant can be used.
3) If the cough is associated with sputum, then use an expectorant cough syrup.
4) Oral decongestant like tablet levocetrizine with phenylephrine.
5) Analgesic like tablet ibuprofen for pain relief
6) Otoscopic examination of the ear to rule out ear drum damage.
7) If the bleeding does not stop consult a doctor in emergency room.
You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
