Posted on Thu, 12 Jan 2017
Question: Yes..XXXX..I am premenopausal. 46 years old. Extreme bloating...with lower ab right side pain and constant discomfort...gained 40 pounds since nov. 2015...bloating can get so bad I look 8 mos pregnant...some wierd spotting and discharge...strange because I take Vestura daily with no days off...colonoscopy showed 2 small benign polyps. My on gym did a uterine biopsy on dec. 22,,,,,does it sound like cancer??? I have been seriously fatigued and so short of breath I went to emergency room. Thyroid all normal. In May 2015 ct scan and pelvic ultrasound showed no masses..I am a renal cell carcinoma survivor now with my right kidney only...thought it strange that I could have another type of cancer...thanks, XXXXXXX

Addressed all aspects in detail

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Let me try to address each aspect of your query individually, for your better understanding:

+Bloating is a very common symptom of pre-menopausal, menopausal and post-menopausal women, and can be dealt with; but is not really indicative of anything else, unless an underlying gastrointestinal condition is diagnosed

+Weight gain is also commonly seen and associated with pre-menopause and menopause

+Spotting and discharge can also be seen during peri-menpause. But a colposcopy+biopsy should usually be conducted to make sure the spotting is related to menopause and nothing else

+If the intestinal polyps have been confirmed to be benign, then this is nothing we need to worry about

+A uterine biopsy conducted was part of protocol, and if the results return normal (most likely), then we can concentrate on helping you to deal with pre-menopause

+Fatigue is also a symptom of pre-menopause and in my opinion hormone replacement therapy will greatly benefit you

It does not sound like cancer to me, to be completely honest.

I hope I have addressed all aspects of your query in a manner best understood by you. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
