What Causes Blood And Mucus During A Bowel Movement?
If colonoscopies were normal don't worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for query.
A small cut or tear in the tissue lining the rectum similar to a small crack can cause problem. When a patient passes hard stools it causes erosion of mucosa lining rectum. This erosion may cause bleeding.
Second possibility is a new hemorrhoid. Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels in the rectum or anus that can can sometimes bleed. Painless rectal bleeding with a bowel movement is a common symptom of hemorrhoids.
So initially i would suggest you to go for a proctoscopic examination of rectum by a General surgeon to rule out hemorrhoid or rectal breech as a cause of problem.
As of now if stools are hard start taking a better laxative like Polyetylene glycol 10 ml once daily before going to bed.
Regards.
Going to my GP today then will follow up General surgeon.
