![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: What are the symptoms for a blood clot in your knee, I have a knee that started just giving out suddently and I had to hold on to somethimg to keep from falling. It did it between days and says before, but now it is doing it many times a day, starting yesterday. I am 80 yrs. old, an active CEO, and cant imagine what is causing this. I borrowed a crutch and am able to walk. SHould I see an urgent care dr. now or wait until my regular MD appt. on Tuesday.?
Brief Answer:
Wait for your regular MD appointment on Tuesday!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have reviewed your information and this raises the suspicion of damaged ligaments at the knee level. I will suggest that you continue using the crutch and see your regular doctor for review. Am sure you would need a comprehensive knee examination and possible and MRI to establish the integrity of all the ligaments and other structures which maintains the knee in a stable position.
Besides, are you having pains ?
It is not a clot. A clot will never cause your knee to give way.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
Keep me updated about the progress of your doctor.
Regards
