Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/*54 - blood from breast 2 days - consulted Doctor - scan and blood tests normal - recommended to see Chest Specialist - wants to know the reasons - and recommendations.
Considering your age of 54 and the discharge of blood from the breast, further tests are needed to know the exact cause and plan for further treatment.
May I please know a few things?
- Is there any palpable lump?
- Any lumps in the axilae or other breast?
- Which scan was done?
I would advise you the following:
Ask for a reference for Oncosurgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and further tests.
It is recommended that the cause of the bleeding has to be found out and the causative disease to be excised and sent for biopsy to confirm or rule out cancer.
One can not really wait and watch for a longer duration. Of course there is no need to panic as most of the cases turn out to be papiloma or such benign diseases but the cause must be confirmed.
I hope this answer helps you to get an early diagnosis along with the reasoning behind it.
FNAC/ Biopsy
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
Bleeding from one breast and a lump in another is definitely an indication for further investigations till a confirmed diagnosis is made.
Mammography, Ultrasonography and MRI imaging do help to get an idea but the confirmatory diagnosis can be had only by an excision biopsy. This is the only confirmatory test.
Please go for it. Here comes the role of a General Surgeon or an Onco-surgeon who can evaluate well and go for confirmatory FNAC if possible or better the excision biopsy.
I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for relevant further queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
