What Causes Blood In Stool?
Question: Past 3 days I got loose motions ( about 15 to 20) -My brother in law (MBBS) advised me below medication for 5 days, O2 (ofloxacin) antibiotic, rantac antacid, zeedot and Meftal. Motions have now reduced however since today morning I can see blood along with stool and urine is pale yellow.
Last night and also today after noon, I took 'Dependal M' in place of zeedott tablet, I think thats why there is a rectal bleeding (might be over dosage of anti biotic)
Now I am only taking rantac, O2 and sporolac DS..along with coconut water, curd, ORS and fluids etc.
PLease advise...
fyi....I work at night shift.

Brief Answer:
Dependal M is the culprit, stop it.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting our query.
Infective diarrheas will worsen if you take Dependal (Loperamide), that is the reason why your brother has advised you to take Zedott.
Do not worry, continue all medicines, except Dependal M, and take Zedott, complete the course of the antibiotic for at least 5 days.
Continue other supportive measures such as ORS. There is no over-dosage of antibiotic, you should follow the advise of the doctors, they would know what and how much to give in each case.
Continue the medicines as advised by your brother and you will be fine.
Hope this answers your question, you are welcome to ask me if you have any additional concerns.
Kind regards.
