The blood is bright red but and mixed with stool

No Diarrhea or constipation Bowell movement is normal but somewhat runny
No fever or burning sensation
One other Item, I have AFIB and had this problem about two years ago but was credited to excessive amount of Coumadin (given due to AFIB) and it was felt that this along diverticulosis I have was the problem

One other item. I am currently on Eliquis twice a day

General health is very good. Just recently had a total health check-up including bood work-up and treadmill. Excellent results.

Can I expect a response soon?

Brief Answer:
Stop coumadine use..

Detailed Answer:
Hi back and sorry for my late.
You are reporting to have normal bowel movement with bright red blood and sometimes mixed blood.
These symptoms are not related with diverticulitis.
In cases of diverticulitis diarrhea with blood , abdominal pain and fever are present.

At your situation you are using Coumadine plus Eliquis. Both of them prevent blood clot and has as side effect hemorrhagic episodes.

So to my opinion your symptoms are related with over dose of coumadine and Eliquis.

You should do as soon as possibile INR and protrombine time.
If the Beeding increase the intensity and the things seems to go worse you should go to ER.
For the moment please stop coumadine and Eliquis till INR test.
Hope it was helpful to you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Since you are bleeding and you are using Eliquis than you should do protrombine time and INR. Eliquis has as side effect bleeding and hemorrhagic episode. This is why you need to check the protrombine time.
Hope it was helpful to you.
