What Causes Blood In Urine And Flank Pain?
Question: I have blood in my urine and my back hurts on the right side below my ribs

Blood in urine and pain in loin that you have is mostly due stone either in Kidney or Ureter .
Please Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
In the mean while start taking broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Tab Nitrofurantoin and pain killer like Spamo Proxyvon twice daily and urine alkalizer (Syp Potassium Citrate) thrice daily . Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Please get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
Ensure to drink more water to keep your urine diluted . This will help to control dysuria.
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis as regards site and size of the stone and back pressure changes in kidney due to stone .
