What Causes Blood In Urine And Lower Back Pain?
Possibly urinary tract infection
Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending question.
One possible cause of blood in the urine is a urinary tract infection. The infection causes irritation of the lining of the bladder which can contribute to blood in the urine. Sometimes a urinary tract infection may cause low back pain as well.
A urinalysis and urine culture will help to determine if you have to have them and function.
If the urinalysis is negative your doctor may request that you see a urologist to evaluate the possibility of other causes of blood in the urine including problems that may occur with the kidney. very rarely, certain cancers can cause blood in the urine. I want to specials that you have any type of malignancy right now but I think it should be evaluated comprehensively.
Thank you again for sending your question.
Sincerely,

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Normal red and white blood cell count does not always mean an infection is not present.
A urinalysis would need to be done with culture to rule out an active infection.
Thanks again for the query,
