What Causes Blurred Vision?
It is transient ischemic attack.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam
Welcome to Health care Magic.
I am Dr. Dadapeer, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you had an episode of sudden onset of blurring of vision lasting for few seconds and it has recovered.
These symptoms are typically seen in transient ischaemic attacks.
The common causes are hypotension, hypoglycemia, hypovolemia.
Hence check for any dehydration or hypotension and correction for the same.
The next set of causes commonly seen in elderly people are vascular occlusions, carotid artery disease, atherosclerosis....
The evaluation for these is necessary in elderly people or in those with risk factors like diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis....
This is not stroke hence no need to worry but stroke can follow in 10-20% of people following recurrent transient ischaemic attacks.
Hence evaluation is required.
Hence I advice you to consult your physician doctor for evaluation by baseline investigations like lipid profile, ECG, ultrasound of carotid arteries, eye examination....
Hope this is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you
With regards
