What Causes Breathlessness In A Paralysed Patient?
Question: hi, im 38 yeras old, paralysed. Recently im feeling breathless after i eat or when i lay down on bed!!! what might be wrong?

1 i got paralyzed after a car accident 10 years ago
2 paralysis is below my chest down
3 i mentioned paralysis coz im not able to fart, i suspect it might be gases not sure

Sorry to hear about the accident.
See if you are immobile and confined mostly to bed then you should get a workup done for your cardiac status. Prolonged immobilization can cause clot deposition in veins of legs which if migrate to pulmonary circulation can cause pulmonary embolism which can cause such breathlessness.
My advise for you is to get an evaluation done by getting routine investigations including chest Xray, ECG and echo cardiography.
You should take this seriously and see your doctor at earliest and share my opinion with him.
