Does A Diabetic Patient Suffering From COPD Experience Rare Stupor?
Hi, Doc. Mintz, After having enough of the chainsaw noise, falling into my chair, things moving around like I would be drunk, stuperous, I believe I have a rare illness, starts with letter M, I am copd, CHF, Diabetic as well. ???? treatment for this illness. Thank You from N.Maine/ Paul E. Marquis
Stupor might happen in patients with diabetes and COPD because of decreased ventricular output because of pulmonary circulation is sluggish.
Secondly decreased ventricular output may cause sudden decrease in the blood flow to the brain which might deprive brain of vital glucose and oxygen causing stupor and coma some times
It is really essenstial to keep the ejection fraction above 60% so that your brain recieves adequate blood supply
The treatment is to reduce blood pressure and to keep adequate cardiac output using arterial dilators.
Thanks
Thanks
