What Causes Breathlessness When Diagnosed With A Respiratory Disease?

Question: hoe long can a person live with hr in 140's & can't breathe
he lays in bed all time and gets up maybe 3 times a day. doesn't have oxygen. his O2 is 93. very week, can't take his own bath. I don't know what to do. he is not compliance at all.
