What Causes Brown Urine While Treating UTI?
Question: I have urinary track infection and had a culture done by my doctor - medicine he gave me after taking it, track infection came back - w ent to him yesterday and he took another culture and is now prescribing ampicillin 500 mg - in the meantime, this morning before taking this new medica tion, I notice brownish urine. No blood comes on the wiping tissue. Is this something to be concerned about but is this related to the infection. I've been drinking cranberry juice.

You have been treated for UTI with antibiotic as per culture report and have noticed our urine to be brownish .since very recently .
The brownish urine is due to acidic urine being mixed with blood and is usually noticed in upper urinary tract infection (Pyelonephritis )
Take appropriate antibiotic as per culture report .
