What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge And Spotting After Sexual Intercourse?
Question: Hi,
I am 6 weeks pregnant. My partner has been away for the past two weeks. Upon his return, we started having some foreplay, which resulted in some tan/light brown discharge at the time. This morning I also woke with some brown spotting.
Is this normal or should I head to the DR for a check up?

Brief Answer:
This is of very low concern
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the question.
The main concern with spotting in early pregnancy is a miscarriage. This is usually accompanied by bright red bleeding and cramping. What you are describing is common in early pregnancy and associated with normal implantation. I would not worry too much but contact your doctor for reassurance if this persists.
